ICU announces its intention to launch its first crowdfunding campaign in support of its first major project: the TRUE NOIR Podcast (Season 1). The campaign will run during April and May of 2024.

Imagination Connoisseurs Unlimited, LLC (ICU), announced its intention to fun a two-month crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for the production of the first season of the TRUE NOIR Podcast. Season 1 is based on writer Max Alan Collin’s award-winning detective novel, TRUE DETECTIVE and features the legendary private eye, Nate Heller.

Writer Max Alan Collins

Mr. Collins (writer of ROAD TO PERDITION, Batman, and Dick Tracy), has penned 17 Heller mysteries and, in August of 2023, signed on to work with ICU to produce a podcast series that leveraged his research and narrative work.

ICU Managing Partner, Mike Bawden, explained the significance of the crowdfunding campaign: “It’s not just about raising funds to pay for the production of this first season of TRUE NOIR, it’s also about raising awareness. ICU is committed to making the first ten episode season with Max and the incredibly talented group Rob (Burnett) has managed to pull together for this project – but we want to prime the pump when it comes to getting folks to subscribe to the podcast.”

“For that reason, we’ve made sure the crowdfunder works to pre-sell subscriptions to the podcast (which should be released mid-year) for approximately the same price people will pay when we’re live later this year. Of course, we’ll have lots of other fun perks for folks willing to provide more financial support, but you’ll have to wait until the campaign launches to find out what those are.”

ICU intends to run the crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, starting in early April, 2024.
