Writer-director-producer Kevin Rubio has signed on to be a co-producer of an animation project based on the popular “Geeky Fab 5” series of graphic novels.
Kevin Rubio (TROOPS, DUEL MASTERS, BEN 10: OMNIVERSE, STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS) has joined ICU as a co-producer and developer of an animation project based on the Geeky Fab 5 series of graphic novels. The project, like the books, will focus on the adventures of a group of middle-school aged girls who share an interest for science, technology, engineering, and math.
They use their knowledge, curiosity, and enthusiasm to solve problems and mysteries in their community – helping friends and families along the way.The book series, co-written by the mother-daughter team of Liz and Lucy Lareau, were originally published by PAPERCUTZ and developed a nationwide following as a breakout series showing young girls learning and mastering STEM subjects. The stories are accessible to all ages of kids and, as a result, have become a favorite of librarians and teachers in upper elementary shools throughout the USA.
Mr. Rubio is bringing together a team of female writers with animation experience to write a series of new adventures for the GF5 girls that form the foundation for a new set of stories, produced under the auspices of Imagination Connoisseurs Unlimited, LLC (ICU) and possibly other production partners.
